Terminator Genisys

 Genre:

Action, Adventure and Sci-Fi

Narrative:
The storyline is clearly shown to be John  Conner leader of the human resistance willing to go to any lengths to safeguard Sarah Conner. This is a tense, narrative that fits a terminator movie perfectly.

Character:
The actors are a typical action movie the main hero a strong man, brave and willing to do anything to stop Sarah Conner from dying. The woman isn't represented as a typical action movie though she is a strong and tough woman who can fight for herself and doesn't really anyone to safeguard her.

Iconography:
There is plenty of iconography typical for a action movie plenty of guns, technology, explosions, jumping from a helicopter and good vs evil. All of these are typical of the action/thriller genres.

Setting:
Although the trailer is only 2:30 minutes long

Camerawork: Minority Report shot-by-shot analysis

(MCU)
The medium close up shot allows us to see all the police faces from the perspective of Tom cruise. The medium close up shot lets us see just enough background to see that they are in front of some stairs. The medium close up shot also means the following shots, will be of Tom Cruise running away from the police.
 (LS)
The long shot gives the audience plenty of back ground to know that he has ran into a back road to try and get away from the police. The long shot makes Tom Cruise look small and weak giving us the impression that he wont be able to do anything. The long shot also means that the following shots will maybe be him getting trapped because back roads usually only have one way in and out.

(CU)
The close up shot allows the audience to see enough detail on Tom Cruise's face to know that he isn't feeling good and he is worried. The close up also allows us to see some background to know that they are still in the back road. The close up also means that the next shot might be of Tom Cruise trying to get away.
